Julie Bushell's London to Paris Cycle Ride 2011
Interview
Have you done anything like this before, was that for a charity as well?
I did the (Brighton Inaugural) Marathon because my Dad had just passed away. And he had had a lung transplant and the transplant unit was so fantastic that I just wanted to give something back to them, it was for the transplant unit for Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire. My Dad had emphysema and it worked and he had four wonderful years.
What inspired you to take on such a challenge?
After running the marathon last year for charity I felt a great sense of achievement, knowing I'd done something to help others while I'm still young and fit enough to do so.
Do you know what the money you raise goes towards?
This ride was to raise money to build a gym & swimming pool for rehabilitation at Headley Court, a medical defence rehabilitation centre in Surrey.
